The Trypillian people were an ancient culture that inhabited Ukraine and other countries in Eastern Europe from 5500 to 2750 BCE. Surviving artifacts from this culture include intricately decorated pottery with swirling, interlocking designs. Trypillian art is a popular inspiration for modern day pysanka artists, as it pays homage to the ancient people of Ukraine.
